Sophie is a DO-er driven by her passion for engagement, transformation and innovation through interdisciplinary collaboration. As an almost Masters of Public Health graduate, she is always on the go, working on several public health-related projects.’
She is passionate about community engagement, interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and supporting initiatives that lead to positive, sustainable change. Some of her past projects include working with Special Olympics BC to develop a Healthy Living workshop series for SOBC athletes, producing the provincial report on Antibiotic Utilization (2013) and Antimicrobial Resistance (2013) and collaborating with urban planning students to advice on UBC’s Faculty Well-being Initiative.
She has wide-ranging interests and most recently, she is super excited about a pilot social enterprise that she is planning in the DTES called “Soap n’ Stories.” Sophie and her team will be working with women to make and sell soap personalized with their stories of strength.
