Crystal Lee believes that people have so much to share with the world, and when they do, not only are they happier, but their relationships grow, and their communities thrive. Thus, Crystal founded Beyond Maybe Coaching & Consulting to help people discover, achieve, and share their awesomeness. She brings to Bridge 4 Health extensive experience in health promotion, collaboration, and development at the levels of individuals, teams, communities, and systems.
As one who enjoys diversity, Crystal studied both Cell Biology & Genetics as well as Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia. Her interest in the health of immigrants and refugees led her to obtain a Masters of Public Health degree in Community Health Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Crystal’s work in the public, academic, and non-profit sectors has fanned her passion for creative group processes, collaborative community development, and social entrepreneurship. This work has included health promotion in San Francisco Chinatown, research on social support for cancer survivors and caregivers in Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, support for international grassroots projects serving vulnerable children, cross-sectoral knowledge exchange and communities of practice, as well as multi-strategy system change initiatives to strengthen British Columbia’s mental health and substance use services.
What interests Crystal is how individual actions contribute to societal transformation. That sometimes messy, but always exciting, middle is where she loves to work because she gets to meet everyday people taking creative action to make this world a better place.
