Crystal Hutchinson, MEd, COC, works and learns in the areas of workplace health promotion (WHP), organizational development and learning, and psychological health and safety. In her current role as Senior Lead, Workplace Wellbeing Strategies, within Human Resources at the University of British Columbia, Crystal leads systemic, and comprehensive university-wide WHP initiatives and provides strategic oversight for the workplace wellbeing team and its operations. Crystal is also a Certified Organization Coach and UBC internal coach engaging with faculty and staff clients as part of UBC Coaching Services.
Crystal’s knowledge, skills and expertise span 13 years in the areas of health education and health promotion. She was a key collaborator in the development of the 2015 Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges. Crystal is an advocate for health equity and applies this lens in all decision making. She is passionate about shifting systems, policies, and practices to advance the wellbeing of people, environments, and communities. As a settler, she gratefully acknowledges she lives and works on the unceded and traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
